Sunday,
June 20, 1999 In an
attempt to help The Society legitimize itself as a Doomsday Cult, Los Angeles
Cacophony celebrated Midsummer with our first and only Pre-millennial Mass
Wedding. The
event also honored the the Unification Church's wedding of 1500 couples
in June 1998 at Madison Square. The naturally catastrophic results
of Cacophony matchmaking were hastened and symbolized by the by lighting
of a dangerously large bonfire for the disposal of marriage certificates
or unwanted mates at the ceremony's end.
